48. Langland and Jones have kicking duel

In 1963 Leeds took on Australia at Headingley and the game turned into a kicking battle between Kangaroos kicker Graeme Langlands and Lewis Jones. Leeds look set for a historic win but Mick Cleary’s tearaway try salvaged a narrow win for the visitors. Langlands and Jones kicked five goals each with Jones missing another eight in a  game that the tourists were heavily penalised in. A speed try from winger Clearly, in which he cleared right away from the chasers finally won the day in front of 16,641.
