Sheffield Eagles 0 Leeds Rhinos Women 104

Leeds Rhinos Women broke their record win record with a 104-0 victory over Sheffield Eagles Women in their second Betfred Women's Challenge Cup game to finish their group matches undefeated.

The previous record had been 92-0 against Leigh in 2022 but a hattrick from Izzy Northrop and a record equalling five tries from Ebony Stead ensured the Rhinos finished as comfortable winners in a dominant performance.  The game was declared by the referee after 60 minutes after Sheffield were reduced to nine players through injury.

Stead opened up the try scoring after just a minute and there was no let up for the home side from there with the Rhinos notching up an incredible 80 points in the first 40 minutes.

Ruby Walker and Izzy Northrop both made easy work of their first tries, before birthday girl Bethan Dainton found space to go over.  Shannon Lacey and Ruby Walker both crossed for two tries and Mel Howard went over in the corner.  Northrop then got back to back tries to complete her hat trick before Connie Boyd found space in the corner for her first try for the club.  Stead finished the half in style with two more tries and Walker continued her impressive record with the two convesrions.

The young full back then picked up where she left off with a try in the first minute of the second half after an impressive break from Boyd who powered her way upfield before offloading to Stead for her record equalling fifth try.

The second half gave interim head coach Leon Crick the opportunity to give debuts to Tally Bryer and Lacey Owen and it wasn't long before they made their impact, with Bryer getting her first try for the club after 47 minutes.

Liv Whitehead made a break from her own half and sprinted clear under the posts to set up an easy conversion for Howard. Sophie Nuttall then stretched high to collect the ball from Murray on the wing and dive over in the corner.  Evie Cousins then wrapped up the try scoring before Mel Howard's kick made it 104-0, before the referee signalled the end of the game after a number of injuries to the home side.
