Rhinos Diary: What's on this week

This week at Leeds Rhinos, a packed four days sees the club's Men's, Academy and Scholarship sides take to the rugby field, whilst all five of the Rhinos Netball sides (First Team, Under-23s and both Yorkshire and North East Pathways) are also on the court over Saturday and Sunday.

Thursday 20th March
Leeds Rhinos Under-16s Scholarship vs Hull FC Under-16s Scholarship
The week's action kicks off at Stanningley as the club's Under-16s Scholarship get their first run out of the season against Hull FC, kick off 7pm.
The young Rhinos, headed up by head coach Mark Butterill, look to make a strong start to the season which spans eight games over the next four months. The side have been working hard in pre-season, which included a team-building trip to Bridlington last month, but now they get a chance to represent the Rhinos against their neighbours from the east coast.
Entry is £5 for adults and £3 for juniors through the main clubhouse, plus there will be food and drink available to purchase at the outside kiosk. Team Sheets are available for all spectators.
Friday 21st March
Leeds Rhinos Under-18s Academy vs Wigan Warriors Under-18s Academy
Friday night sees another Rhinos side run out at Stanningley as Chev Walkers' Under-18s Academy open their 2025 campaign with a tough test against Wigan Warriors, kick off 7pm.
Ahead of the club's first teams meeting on Saturday, the reigning Academy Grand Final champions Wigan take on a Leeds side looking to bounce back after a disappointing 2024 in which they missed the top four play offs. Preparations for the current campaign saw the Rhinos defeat Hull FC 18-4 in a trial match, but now they get a chance to make a strong start to the year against a Warriors side who have eyes on the top four again.
Entry is £5 for adults and £3 for juniors through the main clubhouse, plus there will be food and drink available to purchase at the outside kiosk. Team Sheets are available for all spectators.
Saturday 22nd March
Leeds Rhinos vs Wigan Warriors
Round five of the Betfred Super League sees Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors look to put defeats in the Challenge Cup behind them as they return to league action at AMT Headingley, kick off 5.30pm.
The Rhinos put in a strong performance in their last home game against the Tigers and look to get back to winning ways after tough away trips to Catalans and St Helens. Wigan suffered a defeat to Hull FC in the Cup last weekend but have been in strong form in the league with three wins in four rounds.
Match tickets start at £25 for adults, £20 for concessions and £13 for juniors and are available online at tickets.therhinos.co.uk or call the ticket office on 0371 423 1315. Tickets also available to purchase from Leeds Rhinos Ticket Office at AMT Headingley Stadium but check opening times before travelling.
London Mavericks U23s vs NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball U23s
Round six of the NXT GEN Netball league pits NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball up against London Mavericks as both sides look to start climbing the league table.
Despite it still being early in the season, the Rhinos and Mavericks Under-23s sides currently occupy sixth and seventh place in the league table after wins against Birmingham Panthers and LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons last time out. The Rhinos have seven points so far and could close the gap on the Panthers - who sit fifth in the rankings. Mavericks look to add to their one win so far having played a game less than Leeds.
NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball Pathways
Alongside the Under-23s, the Rhinos' Yorkshire and North East Pathways are back in action. The Under-17s and Under-19s Yorkshire sides head to London to take on Pulse Under-17s (FCP 1pm) and Under-19s (FCP 3.15pm) at The Score in Leyton. The North East Pathway take on Birmingham Panthers at 4.30pm (U17s) and 6.30pm (U19s) at WJ Sports Centre at the University of Wolverhampton.

Doors open at 12pm and one purchase covers both the U17s and U19s games. There is no allocated seating, it is available on a first come first served basis. Sunday 23rd March
London Mavericks vs NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball
The week concludes on Sunday as the Netball Super League pits NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball against London Pulse at Brentwood Centre, FCP 4pm.
Lauren Palmer's Leeds side opened their season with a win over new franchise Birmingham Panthers in round one thanks to 42 goals from Joyce Mvula. Mavericks also began 2025 win a win as their goal shooter Emily Andrew made a confident start to her first year in the competition in a 65-56 win over LexisNexis Cardiff Dragons.
