Rhinos Reserves look to continue winning start against Giants this Friday

A week after their opening win of the 2025 season, Leeds Rhinos Reserves arrive back in Leeds to host Huddersfield Giants Reserves this Friday night at Stanningley, kick off 7pm.
Chev Walker's side produced a great performance in their opening match of the new campaign as they fended off Leigh Leopards to take away a 30-22 result on the road. Off the back of scoring four tries in a pre-season trial match, winger Marcus Qareqare opened his account for the season with two tries in an impressive performance as one of eight Academy players who were given the opportunity to get minutes in the Reserves competition. Other try scorers Presley Cassell, Callum Webster, Noah Whittingham and Zak Lloyd are also Under-18s players as Walker gives them a chance to get valuable minutes alongside the Academy season which starts later this month.
Back to back games gives the Rhinos a chance to build on their opening win ahead of a tough clash with St Helens at the end of the month. Games against Bradford and Hull FC await after that as the season starts to get into full swing.
After their ninth placed finish in 2024, Huddersfield come into this week's game looking to bounce back from defeat to last year's Reserves Grand Finalists Wigan Warriors at Laund Hill. Headed up by Liam Finn, the former Wakefield and Castleford half back, Elliot Wallis was the Giants' sole try scorer against the Warriors in a stern opening test, but they look to take a result away from Stanningley having won the last two meetings with the Rhinos in the Reserves competition.
