Leeds Rhinos Foundation and club win Child Friendly Leeds Award

Leeds Rhinos Foundation and Leeds Rhinos were recently named winners of the ‘Overall Contribution to Making Leeds a Child Friendly City’ category.
Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s CEO, Bob Bowman, attended to collect the award, which recognised their generosity in providing hundreds of free tickets to children from a range of backgrounds and their community work to engage children in sport.
The awards returned for their ninth year to showcase the talent, achievements and energy of the city’s children and young people as well as celebrating the people, places and organisations that help make Leeds a child-friendly city.
The night of celebration involved a stellar line-up of children’s champions stepped into the limelight for a night to remember at the Child Friendly Leeds Awards 2024.
The award recognised the hard work from the staff at Leeds Rhinos Foundation within schools and clubs which helps to work towards the city's vision of being the best city for children and young people to grow up in, to thrive from early years into adulthood.
The club, and in particular Customer Experience team, were also praised for their donation of tickets to make sure more young people can attend Rhinos games. For the last few seasons the club have offered an allocation of tickets to the Child-Friendly Leeds department at Leeds City Council for matches throughout the season. These are distributed to children and families who may not otherwise be able to attend Rhinos matches. This is managed by customer experience lead, Kevin Brock, who always ensures they are allocated and issued on time and maintains regular contact with the groups attending to ensure they have everything they need.
