Here's a preview ahead of the fixture:
Our opposition
After finishing 2023 as Grand Finalists for a second time, Catalans Dragons are back fighting at the top of the Betfred Super League table in 2024.
In the wake of Sam Tomkins and Mitchell Pearce's retirements, the club wasn't shy in bringing talent through the doors to bolster the squad for another run at Old Trafford. Theo Fages brought his time at Huddersfield to an end to sign for the Dragons, along with Hull KR's Jordan Abdull and former Melbourne half Jayden Nikorima. Transfers among the forward pack saw them send Mickael Goudemand, Matt Whitley and Tiaki Chan to other clubs as they brought hard hitter Chris Satae from Hull FC and Tariq Sims from the NRL as he became the latest Sims brother to play Super League. Sims and Satae have both been impressive on the stats sheet too this season, but English wingers Tom Davies (7 tries) and Tom Johnstone (4 tries) are back leading the try-scoring figures along with Matt Ikuvalu.
This week sees the Dragons host Leeds off the back of a damaging 30-8 defeat against Wigan Warriors at the DW Stadium. A tough two weeks in the league saw Catalans lose out to Leigh 30-2 in round nine before taking on the Warriors last Thursday night, ending a four-match winning streak that saw the French outfit beat Hull KR, St Helens, Warrington and Castleford during March and April.
