Forsell names Challenge Cup Final squad

Leeds Rhinos Women’s head coach has named her 20 player squad for this Saturday’s Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup Final at Wembley, kick off 11.50am.

Caitlin Beevers, Hanna Butcher, Amy Hardcastle, Bethan Dainton and Caitlin Casey all return after last week’s league game against Huddersfield Giants.

Ruby Enright who suffered an injury in the semi-final against Wigan Warriors is also back in the squad to face St Helens in the historic clash.  The Rhinos though are without Kaiya Glynn and Keara Bennett, who are serving the second game of their two match suspension.  Bella Sykes is cup tied having played for Giants earlier in the season.  Mayzi Carter, Orla McCallion, Elychia Watson, Evie Cousins and Shannon Lacey are all ruled out with injury.

Sophie Robinson, Dannielle Anderson, Caitlin Beevers, Hanna Butcher, Sophie Nuttall have all won the Challenge Cup twice with Leeds.  Tasha Gaines and Elle Frain won the Final with Leeds in 2019 and Amy Hardcastle is a three time Challenge Cup winner with Bradford in 2017 and St Helens in 2017 and 2019.  Six players who played in last year’s Challenge Cup Final defeat at Elland Road are in the squad, including Player of the Match Zoe Hornby.

Official Coach Travel will be available for this fixture departing from Headingley Stadium at 5.15am. Those who are wishing to travel on the Official Coach Travel will be given the option at the time of booking of when they would like to depart from Wembley Stadium. This will be either after the Women’s Final or after the Men’s Final and the departure time will be decided by the majority. The coach will not be staying for the AB Sundecks Final.
