Loan Watch: Hooley stars as Batley book 1895 Cup Final spot

Last weekend, Luke Hooley and Batley Bulldogs booked their place at Wembley in a fortnight's time as Craig Lingard's side defeated York RLFC Knights 22-8 in the semi finals of the 1895 Cup.

Hooley will join the Rhinos Women's side in travelling to the national stadium, which hosts both the men's and women's Challenge Cup Finals for the first time in history alongside the 1895 Cup, which has been won by Featherstone and Leigh in the last two years. Taking on former finalists York, Batley's strong run under Lingard continued as they ran out to a 14-0 lead by half time; Hooley kicking three goals.

The full back continued his scoring run for the Bulldogs in recent weeks with two more goals to take his total to five and Batley's lead out to 16 points before York responded late through Liam Harris and AJ Towse.

Watch the highlights below:

Elsewhere, young Rhino Joe Gibbons has returned to Keighley Cougars on loan for the remainder of the season after being sidelined with injury since May. He is joined by Leeds team mate Tom Nicholson-Watton too, who has his first spell away from the Rhinos.
