Vuniyayawa reveals code switch that kept him in shape
New Leeds Rhinos signing King Vuniyayawa has revealed that he was playing Australian Rules football back home in New Zealand over the past few months to keep him match fit and ready to go with his new club after starting his new life with the Rhinos.
With no Rugby League action for him to be part of whilst he completed his plans for 2021, the Fijian international opted to play Australian Rules football in Auckland to keep his match fitness up. He revealed, “I’m not much of a kicker but it is a great for clocking up running metres to keep me in shape. I also had my own personal trainer back home, JP Athletic, he looks after a number of professional athletes so he has been keeping me on my toes too.”
