Sterling reflects on historic Adelaide try
With Super League celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this season, we caught up with former Leeds Rhinos winger Paul Sterling.
Sterling was the first player to join Leeds when they became the Rhinos, along with Richie Blackmore, at the start of 1997 following the takeover by Paul Caddick and Gary Hetherington. Leeds had struggled in the first season of Super League, on and off the pitch, with the club and their supporters failing to grasp the new competition.
However, with new management, a new look squad and a new name, Leeds Rhinos finally took to the summer era and it was one night and one try in particular that kicked the whole thing off.
Paul, who now runs his own online fitness coaching business at http://ps4fitness.co.uk, talks about his time at the club and his memories of being a Rhino.
