Clarke ready for competitive PDRL Finals Day
Leeds Rhinos Foundation’s PDRL team will complete their season this weekend in a PDRL Finals Day at York St John’s University with a Finals Day.
Pete Clarke, who joined the Rhinos this year, said fans can expect a physical and exciting end to the season. Pete has had an incredible season, – scoring four tries in his first six appearances and earning selection for the first ever Yorkshire v Lancashire PDRL Origin fixture.
The qualified chef, who owns a company managing two pubs and a restaurant, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disorder in March 2016 and believed his rugby days were behind him before he discovered PDRL.
Having played with Keswick RUFC for almost a decade before his diagnosis, Clarke was inspired by the story of the late James Addyman who represented the Rhinos PDRL side in 2018. After attending training, he instantly fell in love with the sport, and now makes the five-hour round trip to training each week.
