Newman delighted to have agreed new Rhinos deal

England Knights centre Harry Newman says he is delighted to have agreed a new three year deal with the Rhinos and is looking forward to a bright future at Emerald Headingley.

Huddersfield born, Newman joined the Rhinos Scholarship in 2014 and only became an Academy player two years ago after signing his first contract with the club.  He is a former pupil at Holmfirth High School and played for Newsome Panthers. He made his debut during the 2017 season against Wigan and was rewarded with more game time in 2018, signing a new contract with the club.

Newman created history when he made his Leeds Rhinos debut at Wigan in July 2017 when he became the first professional Rugby League player born in the 21st century to feature in a top flight game. The centre was part of the England Academy side who defeated the Australian Schoolboys at Emerald Headingley in December 2019 and this week was named in the England Knights squad for 2019.
