Legend Peacock going the extra 34 miles for Rob Burrow

This Saturday, 3rd October, Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Peacock will be giving up the comfort of a BBC studio when the Coral Challenge Cup semi finals will be taking place and instead is heading to Devon to take on a challenge that he says will be one of the toughest he has ever faced.

The former England skipper will be taking on an ultra marathon across Exmoor that includes over 2,000 metres of climbing in 34 miles. Originally the challenge was supposed to take place in France but the coronavirus pandemic prevented that but as numerous Rugby League defences around the world will testify, you just can’t stop JP when he has got his mind set on something!

He is undertaking the task with friend Simon Dent and is hoping to have it completed before the BBC goes off air on Saturday in their coverage of the Cup semi finals. The aim is to raise £30,000 to support Rob Burrow with his treatment and also support his wife and three young children under eight.
