Donaldson using adversity to drive him on
Leeds Rhinos forward James Donaldson says he has always used adversity to drive him on during his career and he is putting the current coronavirus lockdown to good use as he focuses on his university studies and plans for a life after rugby in the future.
Donaldson suffered two serious knee injuries at the start of his fledgling career and was then at Bradford Bulls when they went through financial turmoil. A move to Hull KR so no let up in the pressure as they were relegated following the Million Pound Game defeat to Salford.
Having helped Rovers back into Super League he found himself without a contract before joining the Rhinos in 2019 and has become a vital member of the squad at Emerald Headingley since.
