Half back Kai Morgan picked up plenty of silverware while playing for junior side Siddal. He won three division one titles, two Yorkshire Cups and two Challenge Cups during his time in blue and white, notably out-sprinting Rhinos first teamer Levi Edwards in the Yorkshire Cup quarter-finals.
Now at the Rhinos, both players made their Academy debuts in 2018, with Morgan earning his in a win over Wakefield. The half back scored a try and kicked seven goals in the 50-4 result and went on to start in home wins over St Helens (a game in which he kicked four conversions) and Bradford Bulls at Headingley, finishing the season with 26 points. He also kicked a goal in the post season friendly against NSW Country Rugby League.
After spending 2020 off the field due to the Covid pandemic, Morgan stepped up to the Academy and made his first appearance for Chev Walker in a 54-0 win over London Broncos, marking his debut with a try too. Days later, he was back in action for the Under-17s against Hull FC but suffered an injury that ruled him out for two months. He returned to action in Leeds' 30-all draw with Hull KR and started four more matches before the end of the season, partnering Jack Mallinson and Jack Sinfield. He scored three tries during those four matches to help the Rhinos beat Wakefield, Bradford and Newcastle.
In 2022, having played 12 games and scored 53 points, the half back was rewarded as the Under-18s won the Academy Grand Final against St Helens; Morgan starting at half back. He also appeared three times for the Reserves.
