Dylan Proud started his Rhinos career with four combined appearances for the club's Scholarship in 2021. He scored two tries in a 44-24 home win over London Broncos.

Joining up with the Rhinos Under-18s Academy in 2022, in his first season he scored three tries in nine games, which included a tries against Hull KR and Wigan at Headingley. He furthered his development with the Reserves too, playing at centre in the final game of the season against Wakefield. A year later he featured for both academy and reserves squads again, playing in all 12 academy outings and also made four starts for the Reserves. Mainly utilised on the wing, he was one of the academy's top try scorers with six.
