Half back Caitlin Casey came through the Academy system at the Rhinos and had an outstanding debut season in the first team.
Named as a starter in her first league match against York, Casey grew into her own over the course of the campaign to score nine tries and 14 goals in 16 matches - she was only absent for the defeat against Huddersfield at Headingley. A season of milestones saw the half back walk out at Wembley in her first Challenge Cup Final, set up Sophie Robinson for the match-winning try against St Helens in the Betfred Women's Super League semi-finals, score in her debut Grand Final appearance and, to cap it all off, collect the league's young player of the year award.
Casey has played for Swillington ARLFC and Oulton Raidettes previously, winning the Under-16s League One Grand Final in 2021 and Championship Grand Final in 2022 with the latter. Her first rugby memory came for Swillington, when she scored a try in her first game with the Under-7s and growing up, she loved watching Bradford Bulls, especially the likes Amy Hardcastle and Lois Forsell who now play alongside and coach her at Leeds.
She has also gained international recognition as part of England's pathway with both the Students and Diploma in Sporting Excellence programmes.
Casey currently attends Leeds Beckett University alongside playing for the Rhinos.
