London Broncos U16 22 Leeds Rhinos U16 46

The Rhinos U16s rounded off their season with an impressive 46-22 win on the road against London Broncos down in Ealing.

Leeds Rhinos Under 16s made their second trip to London Broncos this season for their final game of the season.

The Under 16s won 42-28 back in April in Ealing. Kippax Under 15 twins Joe and Oli Burton will lined up alongside each other whilst Under 16s full back Liam Whitton scored on his return to the starting line up having signed for the Rhinos Academy for next season this week.

Having made two appearances off the bench, Cramlington Rockets half back Alex Donaghy started whilst French trails Anthony Barjou crossed for his first try for the club just before half time. The only other Under 16 player who is included having signed this week is Sam Moorhouse on the bench.

The Rhinos opened the scoring after just six minutes before London Broncos equalised through Patrick Wiseman five minutes later. Both teams missed their conversion attempts but it was one way traffic after that.

The Rhinos ran in three more tries before the twenty-minute mark. French trialist winger Anthony Barjou then crossed for his first try for the club to make it 24-4 at the interval.

London got the first try of the second half when Darren Locke crossed for the home side, converted by Leigh to make it 24-10.

However, once again the Rhinos hit back with four tries in 15 minutes to take the game away from the Broncos. Liam Tindall crossed after 41 minutes before Lewis Delaney added an eighth try for the visitors after 47 minutes. The Rhinos led 46-10 at that stage.

London to their credit, continued to battle away and crossed for two late tries of their own in the sunshine. Kai Pearce-Paul scored between the posts, converted by Cam Scott, before Joe Leigh scored on the hooter. Scott added the conversion to make the final score 22-46.
