Leeds Rhinos Women converted their league form into the Challenge Cup, demolishing Wakefield Trinity 58-0 at Weetwood Park.

Despite early pressure from their championship opposition, the Rhinos kicked off the scoring through influential full back Charlotte Booth. From the scrum, the England international used her pace to run around the outside of the Wakefield defenders and touch the ball down for the games first try.

This sparked the Rhinos into life as they ran a further three tries past Trinity in five minutes. Courtney Hill extended Leeds’ lead by taking advantage of a Wakefield error. Using the scrum again, the half back received a quick pass and muscled her way over the line.

Minutes later, Captain Lois Forsell put daylight between the sides. Her chip kick on the fifth tackle was left by Wakefields full back, Amy Brinkley, to bounce into the arms of Forsell who dotted the ball down under the posts. Courtney Hill kicked two conversions, making the score 16-0.

Sophie Robinson got her name on the score sheet, following her double last week versus Castleford, outsprinting the Wakefield defence over 50 metres to score. But fellow winger Caitlin Beevers would outrun her, scoring a sensational 70 metre effort on the stroke of half time. An attacking kick was diffused by Beevers, who collected the ball on the full and sprinted through the middle of the defence to score. Hill converted both tries, giving the home side a comfortable 28-0 lead at half time.

In the second half, Leeds carried through their dominance of the first half, Rhiannion Marshall extending the lead further minutes into the half. After Wakefield set the tackle count back to zero by touching the ball to ground, the substitute who missed last weeks win over the Tigers, crowned her comeback by crashing through the defence. Hill converted making the score 34-0.

Suze Hill scored a quick double inside of 10 minutes to see the Rhinos through to the quarter finals. Her first was off the back of a huge run from Beth Lockwood, who set up the play for Forsell to pass quickly to her outside, allowing the winger to score. Hill got her second off a flat Wakefield pass that she intercepted to score under the posts. Courtney Hill converted both the tries to see Leeds at 44-0.

Courtney Hill got her second of the game following a drop out from Wakefield. Using the field position, Hill gathered a testing grubber kick through the line and touched the ball down before the dead ball line. Converting her own conversion, Leeds were running riot at 52-0.
In the closing stages of the game, Shannon Lacey completed the scoring, powering through the Trinity defence to cap off a thorough performance from the Rhinos, the final score 58-0.
