Tom ‘Maz’ Marris grew up a Featherstone Rovers fan but will wear the blue and amber Rhinos shirt for the first time in 2020. Playing his first year at scholarship level this season, Marris has previously played for Cutsyke Raiders and Townville Tigers, winning the BARLA National cup in the Under-14s.
He is also a student at Castleford Academy, where he has won the year seven, eight and nine national schools finals. For the year seven final, he was part of the side that won the final at Wembley Stadium prior to the Challenge Cup final. Over the course of this season, he aims to become a better player both physically and skilfully.
If he wasn’t a rugby league player, he would play football for the enjoyment of it and if he was to go to any sporting event past or present, he would go to the 1966 World Cup final where England lifted the World Cup.
