Debut: vs Bradford Bull 15/4/18
Sophie started life on the wing but moved into the centres early in the 2018 season and has stayed there ever since. She’s a clever defender and dangerous strike player in attack. She’s quick and agile and has proved to be a great threat out wide for the team.
She made 17 appearances in her debut season for her hometown club and proved to be one of the team’s biggest attacking threats, scoring 12 tries to finish as one of the team’s top try scorers.
Playing in the outside backs, she only missed one game and was part of the team who secured the Challenge Cup with victory over Castleford Tigers Women. She showed her versatility during the season, moving to centre five games in and created a formidable partnership with Madison Laverick.
Before joining the Rhinos Sophie played for Farnley Falcons and Stanningley, where she was part of the side that won the Championship in 2017, scoring two tries. She also represented Yorkshire in 2015.
She said her Grandad has been the biggest influence on her rugby as he took her to all her games and continues to support her by attending every game.
