Lucy Hewitt is a new recruit for the Rhinos in 2019 after earning a place in the squad after a successful trial. She was selected due to her tenacious attitude and none stop energy. A former fly half, she converted as a utility and made a great start to pre season, standing out in the trial games and starting at scrum half in the first game of the season. Unfortunately she sustained a broken ankle in that match and is due to be missing for a large part of 2019.
The half back grew up supporting the Rhinos and travels from the North East for every training session.
Hewitt comes from a Rugby Union background and played for Darlington Mowden Park from 12-years-old and went onto play for North East of England. At University she concentrated on rock climbing and mountain climbing and combines her rugby with her career as a fitness instructor and leisure assistant.
