Back rower Jude Thompson is one of four players to join Leeds’ scholarship from Featherstone Lions in 2020. Alongside Alfie Beresford, Jack Smith and Jaiden Tang, he won the Under-13 Division One league title in 2018 and BARLA Cup with the Lions last year.
He started playing rugby initially at Bentley in 2013 and in 2015 he moved to Kippax, where he won the Under-12s division two title. His first rugby memory was when he bought his first headguard and he met Jason Robinson.
He looks up to former Rhino prop Jamie Peacock because of his tough nature and ability to be a natural leader.
Off the field, his favourite matchday song is ‘Pump it Up’ by Endor but he also likes listening to UK Grime rappers Stormzy and Aitch. If he interviewed any sportsman, it would be boxer Tyson Fury and if he won the lottery, he would buy a house in Australia.
