Joining the Rhinos Academy with twin brother, Oli, Joe Burton is an exciting talent, who will be aiming to impress in Rob Burrow’s side in 2019.
Before playing for the Rhinos he enjoyed a highly successful time with his community club Kippax Welfare, where he won the Castleford Cup Final, BARLA Cup, Leeds Cup Final and the Challenge Cup, alongside a number of his current Rhinos team mates.
He has previous Academy experience, having been part of Castleford Tigers’ Academy in 2017, playing alongside current team mate Callum McLelland. He joined the Rhinos scholarship later in that year, scoring seven tries in five games.
He currently attends Leeds College of Building and sees getting to the Rhinos Academy as his greatest achievement yet. His sister Abi Burton plays for England women rugby sevens and hhis favourite sportsman is Sydney Roosters centre Latrell Mitchell.
Before a game he likes to listen to “Whatever It Takes” by Imagine Dragons on a match day and if he was going on a road trip he would take his brother Oli, Jack Mallinson and Will Scrimshaw with him.
