Centre Jack Smith joins the Rhinos scholarship as part of a twenty-player cohort in 2020. Born in Pontefract, Smith started playing rugby with Featherstone Lions, where he scored twice against Lock Lane to help the Lions win the BARLA Cup. Along with four of his teammates from Featherstone, Smith signed a scholarship contract with the Rhinos and aims to become more confident while playing under Mark Butterill and his coaching staff this year.
His favourite food is chicken and bacon pasta and if he could play another sport it would be football, as he has previously been scouted. His ideal occupation would be a PE teacher and he looks up to North Queensland Cowboys captain and NRL legend Johnathan Thurston because he never gave up throughout his playing career.
