Having formerly played rugby union, back rower Charlie Lovering made the switch to Rugby League after watching the Rhinos first team. Starting at Siddal, where current Rhinos talents Tom Holroyd, Tyler Dupree and Harvey Spence played their junior rugby, Lovering won the Under-13s Yorkshire Cup and three years later, repeated the feat with Siddal’s Under-16s, where he played in the year above.
Moving on to Saddleworth Rangers, he added the Oldham Cup to his list of honours, winning the trophy in 2017 and 2018. Having suffered a collar bone injury recently, his main development goal for this season is to get back to full fitness and improve his confidence following his injury rehabilitation.
Lovering currently studies at Oldham Hulme Grammar School and his ideal occupation outside of rugby would be to own a business. He is also a UFC fan and would want to interview Conor McGregor is he could.
