Prop Billy Finnerty is the only player in Leeds’ scholarship team to come from Eastmoor Dragons. The prop likes an offload and will be a great addition to the forward pack.
A former footballer, Finnerty started playing for Eastmoor’s Under-8s and his first rugby memory was scoring against local rivals Normanton Knights. He then changed to join Featherstone Lions, where he won four trophies including the BARLA Cup, Castleford Cup and Division One title.
His most memorable rugby moment though was when he got to play with former Wigan Warriors, Cronulla Sharks and Parramatta Eels forward Taulima Tautai. In his first season at the Rhinos, his primary development goal is to get stronger and fitter by working with the scholarship strength and conditioning staff.
Off the pitch, the prop’s favourite meal is pesto pasta with a mango lassi to drink and his favourite car is a Lamborghini. He would also buy a house if he won the lottery.
