Bailey Aldridge

Birth Place

Bailey Aldridge is following in a long line of hookers to come through the Rhinos Academy in recent years.

After winning the man of match award in his first game at local side Batley Boys, Aldridge was hooked, going on to win the Yorkshire Cup, Challenge Cup and League title with the club. He then moved to Kippax where he joined up with Alfie Edgell, Max Simpson, Sonny Lynch, Ethan Spear and Jacob Dakeyne; all of which were picked up by the Rhinos’ Scholarship. He played three times in his first season under Mark Butterill in the Under-16s, starting in wins against Newcastle and Warrington and a defeat to Castleford, but Covid meant that throughout 2020, the scholarship players didn’t play a match.

For 2021, he signed an Academy contract and made the step up to the Under-19s after one season in the scholarship. He made his Academy bow against London Broncos at Richmond from the bench and scored in a memorable match for Chev Walker’s side. He went on to captain the Under-17s through their three fixtures against Hull FC, London and Wigan Warriors, all of which they won.

Off the pitch, if he won the lottery, Aldridge would buy a holiday home. His favourite film is Bad Boys 2 and enjoys a Nando’s and Mango flavoured Rubicon. If he wasn’t playing rugby, he would continue in sport, becoming a personal trainer.
