Hooker Alfie Beresford is one of four Featherstone Lions players to pen scholarship contracts with Leeds for the next two years.
Despite running over the dead ball line in his first game for the Lions, he stuck with rugby league, winning six trophies including the Castleford Cup, League Leaders and BARLA Cup, which is his most memorable rugby moment. A number nine that enjoys taking on the defensive line and is quick around the ruck area, he takes inspiration from Rhinos Reserves Head Coach Rob Burrow and his bravery on and off the field. Picked up by Leeds for 2020, Alfie is aiming to improve his overall play at hooker and get as much game time as he can under Mark Butterill.
Outside of rugby, the Freeston Academy student is a black belt in kick boxing and is a big fan of British boxer Anthony Joshua. His favourite match day song is ‘Pump it up’ by Endor and if he won the lottery, he would save it for the future.
