Jamie Jones-Buchanan played two decades at the club, having made his debut in 1999 in the wake of the Challenge Cup Final. Ten years later he made his own history as part of the team who captured a third consecutive Grand Final title at Old Trafford.

Two years after signing from Stanningley, Jamie made his first team debut but despite this promising start, frustration followed when a series of niggling injuries hindered his progression in the first team. By 2002 he was back to full fitness and went onto make 22 appearances and scored his first ever try for the club against Salford. In 2003 he made a further 11 appearances but in 2004 Jamie was able to flourish thanks to an injury free season.

He came on from the bench in the Grand Final against Bradford Bulls when the Rhinos secured the Championship for the first time in 32 years before going onto be named Carnegie World Club Champions in 2005.

In 2007 Jamie was an ever present for the Rhinos and his impressive season culminated in him scoring a try in the Grand Final win over St Helens. In 2008 after his success with the Rhinos Jamie was once again recognised for his achievements by being named in the England squad for the 2008 World Cup in Australia. He was back at Old Trafford with the Rhinos in 2009 as Leeds wrote their names in the history books again.

At the half way point of his career, Jamie kept on producing his best performances  to help Leeds capture more silverware. Another Grand Final ring with victory over St Helens in 2011 saw Jones-Buchanan lift the Super League trophy for a fifth time; a feat which he did again the following year against Warrington.

The only trophy Jones-Buchanan didn't have was a Challenge Cup. Having tried four times to since 2005, the back rower had suffered defeat to Hull FC, Wigan and Warrington twice in the cup final but 2014 would be the year that Leeds beat their hoodoo to finally lift the trophy. Facing off against Castleford Tigers, Jamie helped Leeds to a 23-10 victory and, finally, a Challenge Cup.

The 2015 treble year was bittersweet for Jones-Buchanan; suffering an injury against St Helens in the semi finals of the Challenge Cup put him on the sidelines for the season but he was to see the Rhinos claim all three trophies, including the Challenge Cup which Jamie lifted alongside Kevin Sinfield on the Wembley podium.

Jones-Buchanan was a vital part of Brian McDermott's side that turned Leeds from Qualifer competitors in 2016 to Grand Final champions in 2017, scoring three tries in 30 games during that season.

Announcing his retirement in 2019, he made nine appearances, scoring a try against Salford in his penultimate game before running out at Headingley for the last time against Warrington Wolves, kicking his only conversion.

Taking up a role as assistant coach under Richard Agar, there was one last hurrah for the Bramley boy, playing his testimonial match in front of a sell out stadium alongside fellow legends Rob Burrow, who the game was also a fundraiser for, Kevin Sinfield MBE, Jamie Peacock MBE, Kylie Leuluai, Danny McGuire, Keith Senior, Brett Delaney and Ryan Bailey.

Jones-Buchanan was awarded the MBE in the 2022 New Year Honours list for his services to Rugby League and his outstanding contribution to his local community and the wider Rugby League community.
