Adam joined the Rhinos ahead of the 2015 season on a four-year deal from NRL side Newcastle Knights and he made an instant impression on his new team with an outstanding home debut that saw him score a try and named Man of the Match.

Adam had a dream start to his Rhinos career and was hailed as one of the competition’s best signings of the season and was rewarded for his superb season with a place in the Super League Dream Team and appeared in the Challenge Cup and Grand Final and helped the team scoop all silverware available to them in his debut season.

He earned admiration for his superb offload game, making the record number of offloads in a Super League season and was named runner up in the Man of Steel awards, losing out to former team mate Zak Hardaker.

In 2016 he featured in another major final when the Rhinos took on North Queensland Cowboys in the World Club Challenge and the following year he was an almost ever present for the Rhinos, scoring 13 tries in 31 games, and won his second Super League title.

In 2017 he won his second Grand Final and during the campaign scored 13 tries in 35 appearances.  The following season he made his third World Club Challenge appearance against Melbourne at the AAMI Stadium.

He played his junior rugby for the Avalon Bulldogs and Newport Breakers Rugby Union team before signing for Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles. After playing for the Sea Eagles Premier League reserve-grade team he made his NRL debut in 2006 against Cronulla.

In 2007 he featured for the Sea Eagles off the bench in their Grand Final defeat to Melbourne Storm and was in the side Manly side who defeated the Rhinos in the 2009 World Club Challenge. In 2010 signed a two-year contract with Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, where he played 12 times for the club before joining St George Illawarra Dragons At the Dragons he played under Wayne Bennett and enjoyed some of the best form in his career.

He followed Bennett to Newcastle Knights in 2012 and went on to play 55 times for the club. In 2009 he was selected for the City Origin team to play Country Origin in the annual City vs Country Origin match. However, he did not play in the match after withdrawing due to injury, but in 2011 he was called up again and this time featured in the City Origin side.

Cuthbertson played with former Rhinos hero Danny Buderus at Newcastle and was praised by the hooker for his attitude off the field as well as on it. Away from rugby Adam is a keen artist and in 2017 became the head coach of the newly formed Leeds Rhinos Women’s team and led the team to Challenge Cup and League Leaders honours and to their first Grand Final.
