Tom Briscoe was been a long-serving player for both Leeds, after signing from Hull FC.

Born in Featherstone, he was picked up by Hull’s youth programme and made his first team debut in 2008, aged 19. Under Richard Agar, he was brought off the bench in that year’s Challenge Cup Final, before he then made his international debut a year later.

In 2010 he finished as Hull's top try scorer with 16 tries but 2011 proved to be his break out year. He was FC’s top try scorer again as he aided the club to the Play Offs and also featured in the Super League Dream Team as one of the competition’s best wingers

In his last season at the club, more Challenge Cup heartbreak came as Briscoe was part of the Hull side that was defeated by Wigan at a wet Wembley Stadium. In all, he made 148 appearances and scored 90 tries.

2014 saw Briscoe write a new chapter in his Rugby League career as he signed for Leeds on a five-year deal, despite having interest from the NRL. He was quick out of the traps, scoring a hat trick in his first game in blue and amber, as he bolstered the Rhinos’ talented back line with 13 tries in his first year. He also broke his Challenge Cup hoodoo as he finally lifted the famous cup in Leeds’ 23-10 win over Castleford Tigers.

More Cup glory followed in 2015 as the Rhinos made history by winning the treble. Again, Briscoe was one of Leeds’ brightest sparks, especially at the national stadium when he broke the record for the most tries scored in the Challenge Cup Final with five against Hull KR. He was also part of the team that lifted the League Leaders’ Shield and Grand Final trophy too.

After struggling through most of 2016 with injury, 2017 saw the winger return to his best as he was almost ever-present for Brian McDermott’s side and scored twice in the Grand Final. He led Leeds in tries the following year, earning himself the Player of the Season award, before he picked up his third Challenge Cup title with a try in 2020.

In January 2022, both Leeds and Hull fans turned out to show their appreciation for Briscoe at his testimonial match. His final season at Headingley saw the winger score twice in 17 games before bowing out of a Rhinos shirt at Old Trafford in the Grand Final.

Internationally, Briscoe made 12 appearances for England and won seven of those fixtures and registered eight tries and one goal. He was named in Steve McNamara’s squad for that year’s Rugby League World Cup and claimed two tries against Ireland and one against Fiji in the group stages.
