- Originally from the Whangarei suburb of Otangarei, where he played for local side Northlands, Greig moved to Australia to pursue his NRL dream in North Queensland Cowboys' development system after impressing through New Zealand's Championship competition. Featuring for feeder clubs Townsville Blackhawks and Northern Pride in six games during the 2019 and start of the 2020 Queensland Cup seasons, he earned a place in the Cowboys NRL squad in 2020 alongside future Kangaroo Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Gold Coast prop Tukimihia Simpkins and current Catalans Dragons forward Ben Condon.

- A breakout year in 2021 started when Greig was handed his first major test experience as part of the Maori All Stars squad. Included in David Kidwell's M?ori squad that drew 10-all with the Indigenous All Stars, he played 20 minutes as a substitute.

- Domestically, the prop started the year with Northern Pride, where he opened the season with two tries against Sunshine Coast in a 28-12 win. Two games in, he was granted an early release from his contract with the Cowboys to take up a two-year deal immediately for Brad Arthur and the Parramatta Eels, where the prop has played the majority of his career to date. After starting his Eels career with two NSW Cup starts against Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra, he made his senior NRL debut in Parramatta's round six win over Canberra and featured a week later in another win as the Eels blew Brisbane away 46-6. Alongside the prop was current Leeds winger Maika Sivo.

- The prop moved back to the NSW Cup for the remainder of 2021 and played a further eight games, scoring one try in a 22-6 win over Mount Pritchard. After the season was abandoned in August due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Greig and the Eels enjoyed a better 2022 campaign as the prop began to blossom. Alongside earning another NRL appearance for Arthur in a 48-14 win over the Dragons as the club went on to feature in the Grand Final, Greig helped Ryan Carr's Eels Reserves team qualify for the NSW Cup Finals with 19 appearances and three tries in games against Blacktown, Mount Pritchard and Penrith. He also made his second All Stars appearance off the bench as Maori beat the Indigenous side 16-10 in February.

- 2023 was another standout year as the forward made the step up to be a permanent name on the Eels NRL team list. Utilised off the bench in both Pre-Season Challenge games, he was in Brad Arthur's squad for the opening game against Melbourne and went on to play the first 13 games of the campaign. Injury to Regan Campbell-Gillard promoted Greig into a starting shirt for five consecutive games for games against Newcastle, Gold Coast, Canberra, South Sydney and North Queensland - the latter saw him score his one and only NRL try. A Lisfranc injury sidelined the prop for an extended period, but he returned in time for the Eels' Finals charge as he featured in the final four games.

- He closed out the year with a new two-year contract to stay until the end of 2025, and was also awarded the Rookie of the Year Award for his impressive form.

- Over the 2024 season, Greig tallied seven NRL starts as the club struggled at the bottom of the table but spent most of that campaign and 2025 with the club's Reserves team in the NSW Cup. 18 appearances and two tries during his final year at the club helped the Eels to a third-place finish in the table before making it through to within 80 minutes of the NSW Cup Grand Final.

- The prop began 2026 as a Blackhawks player as he rejoined the club for a second spell in the Queensland Cup, but earned the opportunity to gain more NRL minutes with the Cowboys too. For the Blackhawks, he tallied 20 games as the side reached the semi-finals for a second consecutive season under Terry Campese. In the Finals series, Greig was a try scorer in a high-scoring 58-34 win in the eliminators against Brisbane Tigers, before starting at prop in a closer 12-10 defeat to Burleigh Bears.

- Called up for the Cowboys mid-season too, he featured in consecutive wins against the Roosters and Rabbitohs, as well as the round 13 clash against Canberra. He played all three games off the bench.

- Ahead of 2027, he reunites with his former head coach Arthur on a one-year deal.
