Checkatrade and Leeds Rhinos hoping collaborative work can tackle youth unemployment
Leeds Rhinos and their partners Checkatrade held the first Skills Summit at AMT Headingley to help tackle one of the country’s most urgent challenges: the million 16–24 year-olds that are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
Participants included DWP Ministers and other parliamentarians, the Mayor of West Yorkshire Tracy Brabin, industry, think tanks, apprentices and further education providers.
Leeds Rhinos CEO Jamie Jones-Buchanan MBE spoke about how he hopes this collaborative work can help progress the work being done in the city for young people and the club's Maintenance Apprentice, FInaly Beaumont spoke about the opportunities his apprenticeship has opened up for him.
