March of the Day walkers reach AMT Headingley
On behalf of everyone at Leeds Rhinos, we would like to congratulate all the walkers who have taken part in the March of the Day III challenge, which reached AMT Headingley on Saturday afternoon.
March of the Day is a 340 mile challenge around 44 football and rugby league grounds from June 1-6, 2026. The aim is to raise funds in the battle against Motor Neurone Disease in memory of Chris Rimmer and Rob Burrow and in support of Stephen Darby, Marcus Stewart and all those in the UK facing the battle with MND. Money raised here will be split equally by the two charities.
Two core teams covered the entire walk, with smaller groups taking on stages throughout the six days, and over 1,000 people taking part, including a host of former football and rugby league players. Day one of the walk began at Liverpool FC’s Anfield Stadium with the final day seeing the walkers arrive at AMT Headingley on Saturday afternoon for the penultimate stop before heading to the Rob Burrow Centre for MND.
Included in the walkers was Lindsey Burrow, Lou Stewart and Steph Houghton, in support of their husbands who have been hit by the disease. You can support the challenge by clicking here.
Leeds Rhinos will be hosting their own MND Awareness game on Friday 26th June when Hull KR are the visitors to AMT Headingley. Book now at tickets.therhinos.co.uk
