Miller will miss three games after unsuccessful appeal
Leeds Rhinos full back Lachie Miller will miss the next three games after tonight’s Disciplinary hearing rejected his appeal of the Grade E charge for unnecessary contact with a player who is injured or may be injured.
Commenting on the decision, Sporting Director Ian Blease said, “We appealed the decision of the Match Review Panel on the basis that we felt the sanction was disproportionate to the incident that led to the charge. We also wanted the opportunity to defend Lachie, who is an outstanding professional and has earned praised previously for the concern and care he has shown fellow players who have been injured in games. I would like thank the panel for a fair hearing and we hope that the sanctioning for this type of event can be looked at going forward to take into account the nature of the game now, especially any ambiguity around the ruck area as the game looks to clamp down on loitering and obstruction.
"Lachie will return in three games time and we look forward to Friday night against Huddersfield with one of our young players, Fergie McCormack, getting the chance to make his Super League debut as the latest graduate from our youth production programme,” added Blease.
