Job Advertisement – Apprentice Grounds Person
Leeds Rhinos are currently looking to recruit an Apprentice Grounds Person to work within our Grounds Department. Under supervision, the main responsibilities of this role include the routine preparation and maintenance of the rugby playing and training surfaces for all Leeds Rhinos men’s and women’s teams.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will work towards achieving a NVQ level 2 qualification in Sports Turf, which you will be on block release to Askham Bryan College in York one week per month.
As part of the Grounds team you need to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues, customers, sponsors and suppliers. You will need to follow the health and safety regulations surrounding the control of the chemicals and substances used within the department.
This is a full-time role working 40 hours a week. You will be expected to work match nights, weekends and other stadium events and work flexibly within the existing team.
The salary for the role will be at the Government apprentice rate in the first year then could increase depending on your age. The role is based at AMT Headingley Stadium and at the Bartercard Training complex at Kirkstall. You may also be required to complete contracting work around the UK.
A full driving licence is desirable but not essential.
