Sinfield fundraising passes £1 million mark
Kevin Sinfield's 7 in 7: Together challenge passed the incredible fundraising mark of £1 million mark on Day 6 as the team went to Dundee in Scotland, finishing on the pitch at Dens Park ahead of Dundee FC's clash with Aberdeen.
Sinfield has just one day to go in his latest challenge when he will run from Queen Ethelburga’s school near York, the route takes the team through Green Hammerton, Cattal, Wetherby, Linton, East Rigton and Bardsey before entering Leeds through Moortown and Meanwood.
The Leeds legend was met by another hero of the city, Leeds United legend Gordon Strachen at the finish line. The former Scottish international has a role at Dundee FC and was there to meet Sinfield on the pitch.
Sinfield's 7 in 7 team have now raised over £11 million for the MND community in this six challenges, starting back in 2020 with one day to go in this year's event. Sinfield has committed to go again in 2026 to complete seven annual challenges.
Commenting on this year's challenge so far Sinfield said, "Our mission this year has been to show that every member of the MND community matters and is cared for. We have been to East Anglia, Ireland, Wales, Sheffield and Cumbria and the message has always been the same. Having seen how many people have come out to support us, in some pretty horrendous weather, shows the public understand what we are trying to do and they get it. It is incredible to raise over £1 million again this year, we never dreamed when we set out in 2020 that we could achieve so much but I know that every penny will go towards aiding research, care and ultimately taking us a step closing to ending this horrible disease."
