Rhinos confirm Frain and Greening departures

Leeds Rhinos Women have confirmed that Elle Frain and Jenna Greening have left the club.

Frain, joined the first-ever Rhinos Academy in 2018 from Dewsbury Moor, and was vice captain of the side.  That season she earned her call up to the senior squad and made her debut against Featherstone.  The following season she was elevated to the first team squad and was part of the 2019 Challenge Cup and Grand Final winning teams.

In 2023, she played in the team’s first Challenge Cup Final appearance at Wembley and in total,  went on to make 61 appearances and score 14 tries for the club.

Leeds Rhinos Women’s Head Coach, Lois Forsell said: “Elle has been on an amazing journey with Leeds Rhinos Women.  She joined us in our first ever season and has grown up with the team and been a key part of that success.

“She is a great person and has shown her resilience after having a number of injuries and has always come back hungry for more.

“Elle has been a valued team mate and role model to our young players and she will be hugely missed.  On behalf of the club, I would like to thank her for her service, commitment and passion for the Rhinos.”

Greening joined the Rhinos in 2023, after representing the Army following a ten year break from the game.  In her debut season she made 13 appearances, which included a place in the Challenge Cup Final squad who played at Wembley for the first time.

In 2024 she played a further 11 times, with an injury hindering her involvement for part of the campaign.  Last season she returned to feature a further ten times in blue and amber.

Forsell added: “Throughout Jenna’s three years with the Rhinos, she has always been a tough competitor and a great team player.

“She has been a much needed utility player for us, who was appreciated by all team mates.  She is great role model for all the players, combining a full time career with being a mother and a player and shown fantastic commitment to us, commuting from Hull each week.

“She is a brilliant person to have around and will be missed by the group.”
