MATCH PREVIEW | Rhinos and Warriors clash in Women's semi finals

Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors go head to head this Sunday at The Brick Community Stadium as either Lois Forsell and Denis Betts' side can book their place in the 2025 Betfred Women's Super League Grand Final.
The two clubs meet in the final four for the first time as the Rhinos look to return to the final after missing out last year, whilst Wigan can make their first Grand Final appearance since winning the competition in 2018.

Opposition
Two pieces of silverware down, one more to go for Wigan Warriors as Denis Betts' side look to become only the second Women's team to win the domestic treble in the Super League era.
Only St Helens' 2021 side have brought the Challenge Cup, League Leaders' Shield and Grand Final trophies together in a single season. Still, a dominant campaign has put the Warriors in contention to repeat the feat as they are 80 minutes away from the Grand Final.
After building a squad to compete for silverware during the off-season, Betts brought together a combination of homegrown talents Jenna Foubister, Eva Hunter, Grace Banks and Molly Jones alongside the likes of former Saints back rower Megan Williams and York's Remi Wilton as well as sisters Tiana and Shaniah Power and PNG international Emily Veivers. The result has seen Foubister put herself in contention for an England shirt and Hunter lead the try scoring efforts with 24 in all competitions. Banks follows behind with 22 tries to her name, whilst Isabel Rowe's goal kick has seen the half back lead the competition with 200 points scored.
Betts' work came to fruition when they lifted the Challenge Cup for the first time under the Wembley arch after seeing off Barrow, London, Cardiff and Leeds throughout the early rounds. Starting the league season with a 40-6 win over York Valkyrie on home soil too, the Warriors were undefeated in their first ten games as they saw off challenges from Barrow, St Helens, Huddersfield, Warrington, as well as Leeds and Leigh twice, to accumulate 556 points. Their toughest test came against St Helens as a season-long battle for the League Leaders' Shield began with a 22-22 draw at Robin Park in round six. After losing out to the Valkyrie in a surprising 32-10 defeat in round 11, they bounced back in a 92-0 result on the road against Barrow before beating Saints in round 13 to lift the Shield for the first time in Wigan's history.
After Warrington forfeited their remaining games for the remainder of the season, the Warriors haven't played a game since that win over the Red Vee, but will hope that their form will carry them towards a second-ever Grand Final appearance.

Semi Final Form
Leeds Wins: Five (2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023)
Wigan Wins: One (2018)
Sunday's semi-final is the first meeting between Leeds and Wigan at this stage of a Super League competition since both clubs joined the Super League competition back in 2018. Looking at post-season form alone, the Rhinos come into this year's semi-final matchup with the best form in Super League semi-finals compared against their rivals from Wigan as Lois Forsell's side have played in all six Super League semi-finals since 2018 and won five straight knockout games up until 2024.
During their run of making it to the Grand Final in five consecutive seasons (excluding 2020 when no games were played due to Covid), the Rhinos defeated St Helens three times in 2019, 2022 and 2023, as well as York Valkyrie in 2021 and Castleford Tigers in 2018, but the Valkyrie proved too good twelve months ago as the Rhinos bowed out at the semi final stage for the first time.
Wigan have also been a regular team in the semi-finals, except for 2021 when they finished bottom of the Play Offs table. The Warriors' sole semi-final win came in 2018 on their way to lifting the Grand Final trophy, but since then they have lost out to Castleford, Saints and York twice - form they want to change in 2025.
Milestones
MEL HOWARD needs 12 points to hit 150 Super League points for the Rhinos. The Rhinos half back has enjoyed a dream first season at the club and has seven tries and 55 goals so far in the Super League competition.
OLIVIA WHITEHEAD needs 10 points to hit 100 career points for the Rhinos. Since moving from York in 2024, the winger has scored 18 tries and kicked nine goals in 33 games for the club.
RUBY WALKER needs 4 points to hit 100 career points for the Rhinos. Alongside ten tries for the Rhinos, she has also been accurate with the boot, kicking 27 goals.
KEARA BENNETT needs 2 points to hit 150 career points for the Rhinos. After being sidelined for the middle of the season, the hooker returned last weekend and needs two points to achieve the milestone.
IZZY NORTHROP needs 10 points to hit 150 career points for the Rhinos. The England international has 35 tries since debuting in 2023 and is currently the club's fifth all-time leading try scorer.
