Next Up: Hull FC

Next up, the Rhinos take to the road as Brad Arthur's side meet Hull FC at the MKM Stadium in round 24 of the Betfred Super League, kick off 3pm.

After Ryan Hall's last-gasp winner at AMT Headingley earlier in the season, the Rhinos make the trip to the east coast knowing wins at this stage of the season are crucial in the play off race.

Here's your match preview for the fixture:

Opposition Overview

With key players still sidelined, John Cartwright’s Hull FC side face a testing end to the season as they look to cement their place in the top six and reach the play-offs for the first time in five years.

Last time out, the Black and Whites pushed St Helens all the way before falling 16-10, but they remain one point ahead of Wakefield Trinity in the battle for the final play-off spots. Prior to that defeat, Hull had put together an important run of wins over Wakefield, Wigan, Salford and Leigh, and despite setbacks against Huddersfield and Saints, they’ve shown themselves to be a dangerous wildcard capable of troubling the league’s top sides.

In attack, winger Lewis Martin has been the standout. The 21-year-old continues to shine as one of Super League’s most prolific finishers, crossing for 22 tries in 23 matches. He’s been well supported by centre partner Davy Litten, while opposite winger Harvey Barron has chipped in with 10 tries of his own. Up front, Herman Ese’ese has led from the front, one of only a handful of players to feature in all 23 league fixtures this season, while skipper Aidan Sezer’s return could prove vital in the closing stages.

Notably, Hull have already beaten Wigan twice this season, with their home win over Leigh another standout result. Even in defeat, there have been positives – none more so than their narrow loss at AMT Headingley, where only a last-minute Ryan Hall try denied them victory.

Looking ahead, the run-in is far from easy. The Black and Whites travel to Headingley this weekend to take on the Rhinos before a Hull derby clash with city rivals KR at Sewell Group Craven Park in early September. Back-to-back home games against Warrington and Catalans then round off their campaign, with a potential play-off berth hanging in the balance.
