Everything you need to know about...Hull KR

AMT Headingley plays host to the biggest game of round 23 of the Betfred Super League as two of the competition's in-form sides, Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR, go head to head for the third time in 2025.

The Robins came away from their clash with Wigan on the right side of the result, but despite the League Leaders' looking like they have locked up their second piece of silverware with five games to go, head coach Willie Peters is wary of the threats posed by the Rhinos, especially after their round 17 victory at Sewell Group Craven Park.

Here's more on our opposition, Hull KR:

2025: League Leaders' Shield in sight

Arriving at AMT Headingley having beaten the Rhinos back in round nine, Hull KR look to win the third matchup of the season between the clubs as they move ever closer to claiming a first-ever League Leaders' Shield.

After two thrilling meetings against the Rhinos already in 2025, the Betfred Super League leaders Hull KR arrive at AMT Headingley aiming to bounce back from their round 17 defeat to Brad Arthur's side in today's trilogy matchup. Both games between the sides this season have been box office viewing, exciting fans about the prospect of next year’s Vegas showdown at Allegiant Stadium.

Four months ago, Hull KR came back to steal a 20-14 result at AMT Headingley, as a red card for co-captain Ash Handley led toJack Broadbent and Mikey Lewis scoring tries inside the last ten minutes, but the Rhinos got revenge with a similar fightback at Sewell Group Craven Park. A thorough second-half performance was capped by Lachie Miller’s try of the season contender, which not only endedHull KR’s 11-game winning run but firmly put Arthur’s side in the conversation for a place in the top four.

The Robins have set the gold standard for the Super League competition after working themselves from mid-table finishers to Grand Final contenders under Willie Peters' stewardship. Fuelled by losing out to the Wigan juggernaut in the race for the LeagueLeaders’ Shield and the Grand Final, a stellar 2025 season has seen the club win 24 games and collect their first major silverware in 40 years when they lifted the Challenge Cup against Warrington in June.

Leeds, Wigan and Leigh have been the only sides to break up the Robins’run of form as they have largely swept all before them to accrue over 700 points, thanks to the work of star half-back Mikey Lewis and free-scoring backs Tom DaviesandJoe Burgess, who scored hat-tricks in successive games against Salford and Castleford.

Hull KR are one of the teams to benefit from home advantage in the final games of the regular season. St Helens and Hull FC are next up in two back-to-back games at Sewell Group Craven Park, before a trip to Wakefield awaits in the penultimate game of the campaign. Then it is back to Craven Park, by which time the Hull KR faithful hope to be seeing their team lift their second piece of silverware in the League Leaders' Shield.

Round Sixteen Review

Take a look at the highlights:

Key Names

Mikey Lewis - No player makes a team tick more in the Super League competition than Mikey Lewis, who maintains his place at the top of Hull KR's try scorers list and try assisters list. The half back has set career numbers for tries so far with the 22. He has nine tries in his last ten outings in all competitions, plus he ranks second in Super League for try assists with 26 (four behind Leigh's Lachlan Lam).

Jack Broadbent - Broadbent is becoming Willie Peters' secret weapon in the backs as the former Rhinos player covers a variety of positions for the Robins and can importantly find the try line. In 25 appearances this year, he has 16 tries, including two against Leeds last time out at AMT Headingley.

Tyone May - After serving his suspension, the Robins get Tyrone May back in their 21-man squad for this week's game - a much-needed boost as he lines up alongside Lewis once again. After moving to the club from Catalans Dragons in 2024, his offload game has been particularly a benefit to the side as he had 25 offloads (the most in the Hull KR team).
