Jenkins and Smith ruled out for Rhinos ahead of Tigers trip

Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brad Arthur has made two changes to his 21 man squad for this Saturday's trip to Castleford Tigers, kick off 3pm. 

Prop Cooper Jenkins suffered an ankle injury in training on Monday that will rule him out for 2 to 4 weeks whilst co-captain Cameron Smith has been sidelined by a back strain that has kept him out for the last two games. No timescale has been put on his return with ongoing treatment. 

The pair join Alfie Edgell (foot), Tom Nicholson-Watton (foot), Mikolaj Oledzki (cheekbone), Tom Holroyd (scaphoid), Ethan Clark-Wood (shoulder) and Maika Sivo (knee) on the sidelines. Oledzki returned to limited training this week ahead of a potential return to action next week whilst there has been good news for the Rhinos with youngsters Max Simpson and Ned McCormack both in full training with the squad now. 

Rising academy stars Jacob Stead and Zak Lloyd are included in the 21 man squad for the first time after impressing in the Academy and Reserves teams recently.

This is the Rhinos second visit to the OneBore Stadium this season having won at Castleford 29-6 back in May thanks to two tries apiece from Sam Lisone and Harry Newman and one from Ryan Hall. That try for Hall was his 27th against the Tigers in 28 appearances for Leeds against Castleford including scoring five in 2009.
