Everything you need to know about... Leigh Leopards

There's only two days to go until the Rhinos take on Leigh Leopards at Leigh Sports Village in round 21 of the Betfred Super League, kick off 8pm.
Here's everything you need to know about our opposition, Leigh Leopards:
2025: Second place is in sight
After their drop in form mid-season, few would have given Leigh a chance of chasing down neighbours Wigan Warriors in the league standings - yet here we are, as a win for the Leopards on Thursday night would put them above the reigning Super League champions.
A strong start to the campaign saw the Leopards sit second with only two losses and a draw in all competitions, thanks to huge wins over Wigan, Warrington and Catalans. Consecutive losses to the Wolves, Warriors and Hull FC caused Adrian Lam's side to drop out of form but much like their 2024 campaign, the Leopards answered their doubters with a run of seven wins in their last eight fixtures. Huddersfield were defeated 28-24 at the start of the run, despite Luke Robinson's side scoring 18 points in the closing stages of the second half, and a late try from Joe Ofahengaue also notched a second win of the season against Wakefield in round 14.
Around the loss to Leeds in round 16, Catalans and Wigan were defeated to lift the club up to third, and an upset against Hull KR and win over St Helens helped set up the side for the season's run-in. Coming back after the break last Friday night, Umyla Hanley's late try against Warrington took the club's unbeaten run to four games, but more importantly Lam's side have closed the gap to Wigan to one point heading into round 21.
Looking at their run-in, the fixture list favours the Leopards, who have five games on home soil. The Rhinos, Salford, Castleford, St Helens and Huddersfield all visit the Leigh Sports Village during the final seven games of the campaign, whilst Hull FC and a fourth game of the campaign against the Wolves sees Leigh head on the road as they hope to have a potential semi-final spot on the line.

Round Twenty Review
Key Names
Lachlan Lam - No player has more try assists in 2025 than Lachlan Lam as the half back continues to inspire and drive the Leopards in the direction of a third consecutive Play Off appearance. Along with leading in a number of other key attacking metrics, the half back also has the exact same number of line-engaged runs as Leeds' Jake Connor with 165.
Umyla Hanley - The centre's two tries against Warrington proved crucial in getting the two league points last time out, and with two tries in four games against Leeds, Hanley is certainly one to watch coming into Thursday's game. The son of Rugby legend Ellery is tied for leading the Leopards' scoring this campaign with 11 tries, including four in his last five outings.
Edwin Ipape - Ever a threat out of dummy half, Ipape can strike at any point as he showed at AMT Headingley earlier in the season. He has the most carries and metres made by a hooker in the Super League competition this season and ranks in the top ten for tackles made too.
