Next Up: Wakefield Trinity

Next up,Leeds Rhinos take to the road as Brad Arthur's side take on Wakefield Trinity on Thursday night as the two club's kick off round 20 at the DIY Kitchens Stadium, kick off 8pm.

Here's your match preview for the fixture:

Opposition Overview

Meeting number three between Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity promises to be another close clash after the last two meetings in 2025 were decided by less than six points. Both clashes took place at AMT Headingley and saw Trinity mark their Super League return as they took away a 14-12 win in round one, before the Rhinos got revenge with a 22-18 triumph in round 13.

Daryl Powell's side have enjoyed a strong reintroduction to the top division after brushing the Championship competition aside in 2024 to earn promtion. With eight games remaining in the current campaign, Trinity have accumulated ten wins to put them on the brink of the top six - only Hull FC are holding them out - including a huge win over Wigan in round 15 as tries from Caius Faatili, Josh Griffin and Tom Johnstone helped the side to a 16-10 win over the 2024 Super League champions. Although they have struggled to find form as of late, a 44-6 win over Catalans and a result against Huddersfield last time out keeps the club in the race for their first Play Off appearance since 2012.

Max Jowitt will be one to watch as he continues to build on a stellar 2024. The homegrown talent is the side's leading try scorer with 11 tries in Super League and 12 tries overall this season, plus he has 66 goals to contribute towards a wider total of 180 - his highest total in a Trinity shirt. Wingers Tom Johnstone and Lachlan Walmsley have also led the scoring effort as expected, whilst Caius Faatili has been one of the surprises of the season as he has 10 tries in 13 appearances since joining from the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

Trinity's run in following Thursday's game sees then host St Helens at the DIY Kitchens Stadium before travelling to Salford and Wigan later in August. Huddersfield and Hull KR are also coming up at home, along with trips against Castleford and the Red Devils on the final day of the regular season.
