Everything you need to know about... Leigh Leopards

A battle of two teams in the top four of the Betfred Super League sees Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards go head to head at AMT Headingley in round 16 of the Betfred Super League on Friday night, kick off 8pm.
Only one point separates the two clubs in the table after 15 games, but it is the Rhinos who history has favoured in this fixture as they have 28 home league wins in history, compared to Leigh's nine. The Leopards though have only lost four games in the league all season, and they come to AMT Headingley aiming to close the gap on Wigan and Hull KR above them.
Here's more on our opposition, Leigh Leopards:
2025: Can Leigh make the top two?
After two seasons where consistency and producing their best performances at the end of the season ended up being the undoing of their 2023 and 2024 campaigns, Leigh Leopards have found a consistency in 2025 that puts them in the conversation for a definite top-six spot and a potential shout at an Old Trafford appearance.
The Leopards got out of the gates fast with a run of six unbeaten games in all competitions as they secured their place in the Cup quarter finals with wins over Batley and Workington, and opened their Super League campaign with a notable 1-0 triumph over Wigan in the first Battle of Borough. Losses to Hull KR and Wakefield dislodged Adrian Lam's side from top spot, but they responded by picking up league points against Castleford, Warrington, Salford and Catalans to keep close to the leading Robins at the top of the table. Tesi Niu has been a particular threat on the wing with ten tries to his name, as well as David Armstrong who has made a strong start to life in a Leopards shirt, but Lachlan Lam and Edwin Ipape remain the familiar threats, having exposed teams since they made their Super League debuts in 2023.
Heading into this week's game against Leeds, they responded to a run of three league defeats by dismantling the Giants, Trinity and Dragons on the road to move back up to third place and a win at AMT Headingley would close the gap to Wigan, should the Warriors lose out to Castleford on Saturday. Looking at the rest of their season, eight out of 11 games come at the Leigh Sports Village as they hope home form helps them move ever closer to a semi-final berth.
