Job Opportunity: Women’s Assistant Coach

Leeds Rhinos are looking to appoint an Assistant Coach for Leeds Rhinos Women’s first team who will provide top class player coaching and development to Leeds Rhinos players acting as part of a multi-disciplinary team, reporting directly to the Head Coach.

You must be a qualified, committed rugby league coach with a strong desire to deliver excellence in a performance environment. You need to possess essential knowledge and experience in coaching rugby league a top level.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Head Coach with First Team preparation, to improve performance and results.
  • Assist the Head Coach in coaching, improving and developing the first team players as directed by the Head Coach; guide, support and challenge.
  •  Assist the Head Coach in selecting the first team; guide, support and challenge.
  • Review 1st Team players 1 to 1 as directed by the Head Coach; guide, support and challenge. 
  • Be prepared to coach, guide & support any of our other teams on the pathway when directed by the Head Coach.
  • In conjunction with the Sporting Director and Head Coach, provide opinions when necessary to shape the 1st Team player promotion, retention and recruitment. 

Expectations:

  • Create and develop a good working relationship with all staff and players.
  • Liaise and work with the other Rhinos staff to ensure the Rugby Department is run in accordance with the values and philosophy of our DNA.
  • Carry out all other reasonable duties and promotional activities as might be expected of the Assistant Coach.
  • Attend Staff development days/sessions as deemed appropriate.

Knowledge, experience and specialist skills:

  • Professional experience as a player and/or coach at top level
  • UKCC Level 2 Coaching Rugby League qualification or equivalent.
  • Credible within a top-level rugby league environment with players, coaches and other key stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and manage young players
  • Excellent understanding of the demands of rugby league
  • Experience of working in a multidisciplinary performance team including human performance, medical, nutrition and performance analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills in all forms.
  • Team and culture building experience

This is a part-time role and the salary for the role will be dependent on your skills, experience and qualifications.
