Next Up: Hull FC

After a successful trip to Magic Weekend last time out, Leeds Rhinos arrive back at AMT Headingley in round eleven to take on John Cartwright's Hull FC on Friday 16th May, kick 8pm.
Victory over St Helens in Newcastle moved the Rhinos into the top four of the league table for the first time since March 2024, and a win on Friday would see Brad Arthur's side close in on Wigan and Leigh above them. Hull FC on the other hand, can end a three-game losing run after suffering a ten-try defeat at AMT Headingley last year.
Here's your match preview for the fixture:
Opposition Overview
Hull FC are the most improved Super League outfit as they turned their back on 2024's campaign, which saw them finish level on points at the bottom of the league table, to sit amongst the top four sides this season.
Cartwright's experience in the NRL as a player and coach, as well as a mass recruitment strategy, has turned the club's fortunes around inside a year. The former Brisbane Broncos, Sydney Roosters, North Queensland Cowboys and Gold Coast coach brought the experienced Jordan Rapana and Aidan Sezer with him from the southern hemisphere, as former Rhino Sezer's earned the honour of club captain for the year ahead. Cade Cust and Amir Bourouh's switch from Salford as well as John Asiata's arrival from Leigh, built Cartwright's brand new spine which has worked effectively ten games into the the season.
Despite his red card incident last weekend, Liam Knight has worked his way into the starting pack alongside Herman Ese'ese who has had a standout year with five tries and the second most offloads in the league. Lewis Martin has picked up his try scoring from last year too as he leads the club with six so far, and Will Pryce's arrival last month adds another wildcard to the Airlie Birds' outfit.
A fast start to the year in all competitions saw the club lose once in the first two months of the campaign. Opening the Super League season with a 24-4 away win over Catalans Dragons, they also secured wins over Huddersfield, Wakefield and Castleford around a defeat to Wigan, but the black and whites got their revenge in the Cup as they defeated the Warriors to book a quarter-final spot.
More recent results have seen the club fall to consecutive defeats against Hull KR and Wigan, as well as Huddersfield last time out at Magic Weekend. Now they look forward to three consecutive away games until the end of the month, starting at AMT Headingley before they travel to Leigh and Catalans as the season approaches the halfway mark.
