Rhinos Diary: What's on this week

This week at the Rhinos, the club's Women's side leads the upcoming matches as Lois Forsell's side looks to book their place in the Betfred Women's Challenge Cup Final against Wigan on Saturday afternoon.

The semi final is one of five matches across the week, which starts with the Rhinos Under-16s running out at AMT Headingley against Huddersfield Giants. Saturday sees Leeds Rhinos Netball head on the road as the first team and NXT GEN sides meet Loughborough Lightning at the Sir David Wallace Sports Centre.

Wednesday 7th May

Leeds Rhinos Under-16s Scholarship vs Huddersfield Giants Under-16s Scholarship

Wednesday night sees the return of Scholarship action to AMT Headingley as Leeds Rhinos take on Huddersfield Giants at the stadium, kick off 7pm.

Mark Butterill's Leeds side were comfortable winners against Leigh Leopards in April as they continued a winning start to 2025, but they face a Huddersfield side who have also won their first three games of the year too.

Entry to the Stadium is £5 for adults/concessions and free for junior 16 & under, with monies going towards rugby league development.

 

Saturday 10th May

Leeds Rhinos Women vs Wigan Warriors Women

A place at Wembley is at stake for Leeds Rhinos Women on Saturday afternoon as they take on Wigan Warriors at the LNER Community Stadium for a spot in the Betfred Women's Challenge Cup Final, kick off 12pm.

The Rhinos beat Wigan on the way to their last two Cup Final appearances in 2023 and 2024 but this year, Lois Forsell's side face a tough challenge as the Cherry and Whites won all three of their Cup games without conceding a point. The Warriors go for their first appearance in the Cup Final in 2025 in what is set to be a tense matchup in York.

Loughborough Lightning vs NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball

With five games to go in the Netball Super League season, NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball look to close the gap on the top four as Lauren Palmer's side take on Loughborough Lightning at the Sir David Wallace Sports Arena on Saturday night, FCP 6pm.

The Rhinos begin a crucial run of games starting with this weekend's clash with Lightning before they take on Manchester at the first direct Arena, London Mavericks and London Pulse. Loughborough, on the other hand can keep their hopes of a home semi final alive as they take on Pulse, Dragons, Mavericks, Forest and Panthers before the end of the regular season.

Loughborough Lightning Under-23s vs NIC Leeds Rhinos Netball Under-23s

The NXT GEN league is heating up with six rounds left as the Rhinos look to catch up to league leaders Loughborough Lightning before the both sides meet in the Super League, FCP 3.45pm.

The Rhinos are on a strong run of form, having won six games on the bounce around two bye week to put Francine Hall's side third in the table on 22 points. Loughborough are within touching distance with only one loss all season, which came back in round one against London Pulse.
