Round seven of the Betfred Super League sees Leeds Rhinos make their second trip to Salford Stadium to face Salford Red Devils on Thursday 10th April, kick off 8pm.

Opposition Overview

2025 has been a tough season so far for Salford Red Devils as they battle on-field and off-field situations. Heading into this weekend's Cup fixture, the club sits eleventh in the Betfred Super League table with one win in six after suffering four straight losses to start the year.

Round one saw the club field a reserves squad for their opening game against St Helens, due to the restrictions of the sustainability cap remaining in place, but a week later they were back to full strength to welcome Leeds for the first of two visits by the Rhinos. Brad Arthur's Leeds side eventually came away the result, after going behind early in the contest, before Hull KR and Castleford also inflicted defeats in rounds three and four.

Round four of the Challenge Cup saw the Red Devils end their losing streak as Ryan Brierley, Esan Marsters, Jayden Nikorima and Ethan Ryan contributed to a 26-16 victory, plus they added a first victory of the league season when they defeated bottom of the league Huddersfield on home soil.

Last time out in the league, another youthful squad were put to the test by Wigan Warriors who ran out to a 54-0 triumph at The Brick Community Stadium, before the club bowed out of the Betfred Challenge Cup in a 20-12 defeat to Catalans Dragons. It was the first of two matches against Steve McNamara's side in the coming weeks as after the visit of the Rhinos to Salford this Thursday, the Red Devils head back to Perpignan next weekend.
